About

My name is Todd, INELDA-trained. I founded Gentle Passage to provide compassionate end-of-life care in the Lowcountry.

Who I Am

I’m Todd VanOrden-Scranton, an INELDA-trained End-of-Life Doula with over 15 years of experience as a Master of Social Work (MSW), dedicated to providing compassionate support to individuals and families in the Lowcountry. As a Reiki Master, I bring a holistic approach to emotional and spiritual care, fostering peace during life’s transitions. Additionally, I’m a pianist and organist, proudly playing the organ at my church, where music helps me connect with others on a profound level. Through Gentle Passage, I combine my expertise and heartfelt care to guide you through end-of-life and pre-death journeys with dignity and grace.

My Role

Unlike hospice, which focuses on medical care, I offer emotional and practical support to ensure your end-of-life experience aligns with your wishes. I’m here to:
* Be a supportive presence, listening to your needs and concerns.
* Advocate for your preferences, such as room setup, who’s present, or where you’d like to be during your final moments.
* Provide an objective perspective, helping families process emotions and make decisions, especially when they may not want hospice care.

My vision is to be the Lowcountry’s trusted leader in death doula services, fostering a community where life’s final transitions are honored with dignity and care.
